Trends in Kitchen Lighting: Using Pendants
When it comes to trends in kitchen lighting, one trumps them all: the use of
pendants. Because of their incredible versatility and no-fuss style, there is no better way to replace your outdated kitchen lighting than with a stylish pendant (or several).
Popular ways to incorporate pendants in your kitchen lighting:
-
Mini Pendants. A row of two or three mini pendants over a kitchen island or bar is a great way to modernize your kitchen. They're small enough to remain unobtrusive, but available in a wealth of designs and vibrant colors so that you can really make a statement.
They are also a great kitchen lighting solution for use in smaller areas, like breakfast nooks. A popular look is to use a round conversion canopy to arrange mini pendants at varying heights.
- Bowl Pendants. Now available in countless styles, they are being used more and more frequently in lieu of the traditional chandelier because of their functional nature. When choosing a bowl pendant for your kitchen lighting, choose one with plenty of wattage – you'll need the extra light in your kitchen.
- Metallic Pendants. To create an ultra-clean look in your kitchen, choose a pendant style with a nickel or chrome finish. If you have stainless steel appliances, these will coordinate fabulously.
